Freezing herbs and sauces is the time-saving hack you need.

The art of the 15-minute meal is a necessity when you are busy and constantly being pulled in multiple directions all day long. You don’t have to sacrifice taste and flavor, or turn to fast food to have a quick and easy meal. One simple hack I use to get dinner ready fast is to freeze my herbs and sauces.

Whenever I make a sauce for a meal, I always set aside some for freezing to save some time in the future. The easiest way I freeze herbs and sauces is by using an ice cube tray or a mason jar. Remember to leave some room in whatever storage you use because it will expand as it freezes. When freezing herbs, you can place them in olive oil for easy use when cooking. You just thaw your herbs or sauce when you are ready to use them.

Make sure to check out my videos on roasted tomatillo sauce and homemade pesto in the gardening section of the site. These are great examples of sauces and herbs that can be frozen and used for later. Below is a pesto ravioli that took 15-minutes to make!
